Kapa Haka Festival

Kapa Haka Festival
As I walked onto the stage we started to sing Tu mai ra. I felt nervous when we started to do a takahia. I forgot the words and sung it wrong. I freaked out then remembered the words. My skirt was moving because I was doing a slow takahia. We moved onto Harae mai a paoa we moved together. All I could see was the back of Natalies head. I accidently did a takahia at the start but I stopped. We moved out of the squished up square we were in then. I started to do Ka pioioi in one of the actions I smudged my
moko  in puri anei I saw my dad. In utaina the girls sung so but only a couple did in the haka then we sung wainui e and E honore and left the stage I felt happy  and sad that we couldn't do practise anymore.

Leighton house

For student volunteer army room 4 went to Leighton house, I was annoyed by how much time it took to  preperate. I was a impact officer  I was really excited I can't wait to go to Leighton house at school we got into our cars I was in my mums  car. When got there we waited then we went in side.

As I walked into the leighton house I grabbed a ukulele. Te Atawhai and I sat down and started to play you are my sunshine. I've never done this without a folder I whispered  but I did it perfectly saw some people we sung happy birthday to noal he was 90. Then we had some raro and biscuts  we met some more people.

My mum took me and charlotte to the toilets when I got back we played a game and we talked to more  people and sung some songs as a class and then we left  I want to go back to leighton house.

THE END

Marine reserve

Te Tapuwae Rongokako Marine Reserve.

As I dove down into the cold water stopped suddenly when I saw hidden under all the coral and seaweed a giant crab hidden underneath it was a giant spiky kina. I jumped out of the water and swam away. I saw a nice big school of fish  swimming past  it was it some beautiful blue and yellow fish they reminded me of fiji.

I got to a murky pool. It had a a big rock right in the middle there was a giant crayfish nest I Te Atawhai tried touching one of the  crayfish I hit her hand and she moved it I started to get cold so we started to swim back to shore. I saw a little octopus in a giant pool.

On shore it was cold so stan rios dad took Te Atawhai rio and I back to get change I got changed when the others got back I played tag  the marine reserve is  so much fun.

Edible explosion

Edible explosion!!!!
It was about to be my turn, I had to measure 4 different
things into one paper bag.  After Amber, Rio, Kale'a and I all had a turn
putting the citric acid, icing sugar, flavour and baking powder in, it was sherbet.

We put our spoons in and tried it out. It fizzed like crazy!  I opened my mouth and I almost threw up, but I swallowed it and it burnt my mouth. I disliked it and I don't say stuff like that very often. That's Alice for don't try this!!!!! There were too much chemicals in my opinion.  I had some more this time and I had a drink of water and it made the explosion bigger, bigger and bigger until it was giant but then...I swallowed it.  It was fun but I didn't like the taste.  By Alice Varey.

cross country

"I'm so nervous." whispered Indie as the year 3's lined up. "Indie you're gonna miss your race!" I yelled as she ran to the start line. Matua Nick started them off.  About 200,000  minutes later we lined up at the start  line.  " Ready, set, go!" yelled matua Nick.  Off we went like lightning down the gravel, down the hill, along  the road then ... I forgot where we were going. I ran down a dip in the sand and raced up the hill I I sprinted back the way i'd come. Suddenly I was racing towards the finish line as Manaia cheered,  "Go!,"  I thought I came last but I realised I actually came ... fifth. My grandparents  said, "Congratulations."

Interesting perimeter art

This term I have learnt about perimeters.
I did so many tries it was so challenging  because I had never did it before it was all new to me. I did not know what to do but I persevered and I did it. Have you ever found the perimeter of something?
